• (Page 2) •
MINE ID rY OR PROSPECTING ID rX M-1977-407
INSPECTION DATE 3-15-2000 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
OBSERVATIONS
This was a partial routine monitoring inspection conducted as part of the Division's ongoing monitoring program for mine
sites in Colorado.
There are some stockpiles of processed material on site, some of which are a reject material. The Fait is currently inactive
but Montrose County indicated that they will be removing or relocating the stockpiles to facilitate thy: revised mining plans
proposed in the 1997 112c conversion application.
The two acre area just north of the access road, described in the Division's 11-5-97 inspection report is beginning to
support some vegetation. It does not appear that extensive reclamation tasks were performed here, but vegetation
establishment Imostly shrubby species) appears to be occurring. This area should be monitored to determine if additional
reclamation tasks need to be performed. The patch of knapweed noted in the 1 1-5-97 inspection •eport was not noted
during this inspection.
The mine identification sign is in place and in compliance. Permit boundary markers are in place, but additional markers
would be beneficial to prevent potential mining disturbance outside the approved permit boundary.
The county is now using the more northern pre-existing road to access the site due to it's less steep grade. The road
appears to be stable.
Stormwater control berms were in place and no significant erosion was noted.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to:
Division of Minerals and Geology, 701 Camino Del Rio, Room 125, Durango, Colorado 81301, Attn: Steve Shuey, phone
no. 970-247-5062.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Brian Wilson
OPERATOR Montrose County
STREET P. 0.
