III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
On March 2, 1994, a complete inspection was conducted at the Apex No. 2
Mine. This mine is presently undergoing reclamation. Amine representative
was not present during this inspection. The weather at the time of the
inspection was sunny, however snow pack was heavy and spring thaw has not
begun to occur.
The records are kept at the Routt county courthouse. These were checked and
were in order.
The Mine was inspected. The snow was about 1.5 feet deep in the former
location of the mine facilities area. The pond was totally snow covered. Ditches
leading to the pond were drifted over; it did not appear that any snow melt had
reached the pond. The stakes in the ephemera( drainage have not moved
since they were placed.
