III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was complete inspection conducted by Janet Binns of the Colorado Division of Minerals and <br />Geology. The mine is reclaimed, with no facilities and no personnel remaining on site. The mine was an <br />underground mine. The mine site was free of snow and temperature were warm and windy. <br />Hydrologic Balance: The pond is damp with no standing water. The permanent drainage on the north <br />west side of the permit azea is in good repair with no side cutting or undercutting. Runoff is flowing as <br />designed through drainages and road Swale. <br />Slides: No new rockfall was observed on the reclaimed mine bench or backfilled outslope. Loose <br />material from natural slope above the ramp to the bench has sloughed off and deposited on the west side <br />of the ramp. <br />Records: Mine records were checked at the Routt County Courthouse. Mine records are kept in the vault <br />in the Routt County Clerk and Recorder's office. Recent submittals have been placed in the back pocket <br />of the permit 3-ring binder. Availability of records form is attached to this report. <br />Veeetation: DMG representative observed 2 sheep on mine site on April 13, 2001 when in the area. No <br />sheep were currently on the site. Inspection of the vegetation on April 17, 2001, found only minimal <br />grazing had occurred on the reclaimed portal bench area. No sign of grazing was observed in the yard <br />area. Brome grass and Orchardgrass are beginning to green up at the crowns. The fence alongside Routt <br />County Road No. 39 is completely down. Fence posts remain but all wires were laying on the ground. A <br />small patch of Whitetop was noted approx. 40 ft. west of the N W corner or the Office building.
