<br />Minesite Evaluation Report Narrative <br />June 28, 1984 <br />Dorchester Coal Company <br />9350 East Araphohoe Road <br />Suite 300 <br />Englewood, CO 80112 <br />Fruita No. 1 and 2 Mines <br />Colorado Permit C-015-81 <br />Personnel on Inspection: Jerry 4dhite, OSM, no operator contact present <br />Enforcement <br />No problems were encountered during the inspection. However, permit <br />and mine plan documents were not examined because the operation is <br />shut Sown. Access to these documents will be attempted at a later <br />date by contacting MLRD. <br />General Comments <br />Weather conditions were clear and warm. Surface conditions were dry. <br />No water discharges were encountered. <br />Water Drainage Management <br />There are two oonds which collect surface drainage from disturbed <br />areas. Both ponds employ a drop inlet combination spillway with gate <br />valve. The southwest pond collects surface drainage from t}Ze upper <br />and lower seam entries, the haulage road and the waste dump areas. T}Ze <br />southeast pond collects surface drainage from the coal storage <br />stockpiles as well as the topsoil and subsoil stockpiles. Both ponds <br />were completely dry. <br />Waste Dump Areas <br />The inspection and certification documents for these structures will <br />have to be checked with MLRD. <br />Pond Certifications <br />These will have to be cliec}:ed with MLP.D. <br />Road Construction Certifiction <br />These will have to be checked with MLRD. <br />
