III. Comments/Compliance
This was a partial inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on the morning of
Thursday, July 18, 2002. This site was quiet and deserted. The weather was hot, dry and
hazy from the smoke of forest fires in the area.
At the East Mine, the area below the road that was amended last year, the vegetation was
mostly brown and baked. There was no evidence of erosion or even any rainfall since the
last inspection.
The ditches were all dry. Seeps in the slump areas above the road were completely dry also.
At the Middle Mine, the vegetation was all brown. There were no signs of erosion or
instability that haven't been there before.
At the West Mine, the vegetation was excellent, with thick grasses and numerous shrubs,
although much of it shows the effects of the dry weather. The pond was dry. Pond
embankments were stable. There was no evidence of siltation escaping from the site.
