Compliance with Colorado Surface CoaZ~~7ivng ReclamEation d <br />CRS 2973, as amended 34-33-101, et. sea., <br />and the <br />Rules <br />This includes a listing of the particular provisions of the regulatory arc <br />examined during the course of this inspection, and identifies enforcement a <br />during the inspection for failure.to comply with the Rules and P.egulatiaAS, <br />the pezait. <br />4.02 Signs and Markers <br />All signs and markers were in place and in good condition. <br />4.03 Roads <br />Roads at the mine site were in good surface condition. Sparse veget tivi <br />growth was noted 'in the areas adjacent to the haul road seeded last fall. +1 , <br />roadside ditches and culverts were open. <br />4.04 Support Facilities <br />:+ere <br />The small impoundment of water noted adjacent to the truck scale fac~i~iF: <br />during the May inspection no longer exists. No problems were noted with t~t{{e 54 port <br />facilities. ~ <br />4.05 Hydrologic Balance <br />All ponds and ditches at the mine site were free of water with the xcep~ion <br />that a small amount of water remains in Pond C. The operator has temporar l~ S~lspended <br />construction work on Pond C due to the wet conditions in the pond bottom. T e' Aerator <br />believes thak the pond will be completed by July 1, 1982 compliance deadli. e <br />The ditch from above Pond~C to Sump D will be constructed after top <br />operations are complete. <br />Very 'little vegetative growth was noted in the ditches and on the <br />4.06 Topsoil <br />Topsq'il stripping was temporarily suspended due to equipment failur <br />examination of the stripping cuts it appears that the operator is salvagin <br />from the area. Topsoil Stockpile A has a good stand of young vegetation v' <br />the surface of about one half of the pile. The other half of the pile con <br />new topsoil placed on it. This pile should be in its permanent configurat~ <br />fall and ready for seeding of the entire surface. <br />4.14 Backfilling and Grading <br />Backfilling operations are continuing in the Stage 1 cut.
