(Page 2) •
MINE ID # 632 PROSPECTING ID # M-79-059
INSPECTION DATE 05/23/97 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS CLK
OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were made during a routine inspection of this 175 acre 112 pit.
1. Boundaries were marked with fencelines and stakes, and the permit number was displayed on
a sign near the entrance.
2. Approximately one-third of the site had not yet been disturbed along the southeast
boundary. It is currently a 60-acre pasture.
3. Of the 115 acres left, approximately 30 acres comprised the main process and materials
stockpile area.
4. Eighty-five (85) acres, approximately, have been excavated and partially reclaimed. The
slopes along the norther boundary still need grading, but those along the eastern and
southern edges of the pond to be left in place have been graded to 3H:1V and topsoiled.
Another twenty-five acres has been graded down and gravelled over, in preparation for use as
a stockpile area.
5. Asphalt is being processed and recycled onsite. A Notice to the Division of these
activities will be required, so that the bond may be adjusted to account for the asphalt
materials piles on site. (See Problem 1)
6. It is believed that there is enough topsoil left onsite to complete reclamation; topsoil
has been stored along the edges of the pond boundary, with two large (10' x 50' x 100' each)
extra stockpiles making up the excess.
The bond will be recalculated in order to confirm that enough financial warranty has been
posted with the Division to complete reclamation at this time. If a larger bond is required,
the Operator will be contacted within two weeks with new task cost estimates.
I 6 E Contact Address cc: Carl B.
