• (Page 2) • <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # <br />INSPECTION DATE 07-15-98 <br />This was a pre-operation inspection i <br />the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />Department was present during the <br />Ground conditions were dry. <br />M-98-047 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC/CBM <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />~f the Mantle #3 Pit conducted by Erica Crosby and Carl Mount of <br />and Geology. Marvin Moore representing Moffat County Road <br />inspection. Weather conditions on site were clear and warm. <br />The Mantle Pit #3 application is currently under review, and will be a sand and gravel operation <br />encompassing 17.9 acres. The anticipated use of material will be aggregate for road maintenance. <br />The pit will be situated on a dry ridge, and gravel deposits are at an estimated depth of six feet <br />over an area of 6 to 7 acres. The pit will be located approximately 1/4 mile northeast of the Moffat <br />County gravel pit M-89-035. The present access road will be extended to service the Pit. The <br />estimated topsoil depth in the area is 6" to 10", and will be stockpiled for reclamation. The <br />anticipated postmining land use is rangeland. <br />A mine sign was posted and the permit boundary was delineated by markers. There were no man-made <br />structures within 200 feet of the permit area. Vegetation on site consists of mainly Western <br />Wheatgrass, Intermediate Wheatgrass and Sage.
