Long
Division Drredor
Re: Corrective Action Submittal, Red Canyon Quarry; M-$5-043
Dear Mr. Stack:
As you recall, the Division inspected your mine site on June 4, 1999 to review the erosional
damage caused by the exceptionally lazge spring rain events which produced sufficient runoff to
breach the existing sedimentation pond. You constructed a new sedimentation pond and was
required to submit documentation to demonstrate that the newly constructed pond would
adequately contain the designed storm event. You provided pond dimensions but have yet to
submit the watershed analysis. This was due on August 9, 1999.
Would you please explain why the watershed analysis and pond sizing evaluation were not
submitted by the corrective action due date.
If you have any questions, please give me a call.
Sincerely,
n ,,~,~,
ame~e
Environmental Protection Specialist
