(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1980-080
INSPECTION DATE 5/20/03

INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
This inspection was preformed as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division of Minerals and
Geology. The main focus of this inspection was to verify current conditions prior to undertaking a Financial Warranty review.
The site was inspected in November of last year, however, staff did not have correct maps due to the Division's computer
imaging project. The operator's representative was not contacted as the inspection was a matter of convenience and primarily
for verification purposes.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12. Using a map
provided with TR-02, the inspector was able to determine the extent of past excavation and total disturbance that was in
question during the last inspection. It appears that most , if not all, of the first phase of mining has been accomplished. The
existing pond is approximately 23 acres. This is the only area where excavation has occurred. The other area of disturbance
is the 21 acres of Plant and stockpile area identified on the mentioned map. A large stockpile oftopsoil /overburden is located
in the northeast corner of this area. Small stockpiles of pea gravel and sand were noted in the south central part of this area.
Vegetation around the lake includes willows, young cottonwood saplings and a variety of grasses and (orbs. Cheat grass is the
major species of grass but wheat grass, some bromes and sedges are noted. Total cover in this area is estimated to be
around 75%. Some tamarisks and knapweed are noted, however, the operator does have an active control plan for the site.
Slopes around the lake appear to be 3H:1 V or better with on area noted as 6H:1 V along the north edge. The 21-acre Plant and
Stockpile Area has been cleared of any vegetation some time ago and there appears to have been no reclamation attempted in
this area. Some cheat grass and volunteer rabbit brush dot the area but at no significant value.
No storm water or erosion issues are noted.
The recalculation of the bond will encompass the secondary seeding of the pond banks with the approved seed mix, noxious
weed control and the reclamation of the Plant /Stockpile Area.
No other issues were noted at this time.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3r0 Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Ed Settle
OPERATOR Grand Junction Pioe and Supply
STREET P.O.
