III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. Th~a comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Seneca II Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the DMG. <br />Aerial photographs were taken on November 21, 2006 at approximately 10:35 a.m. Mike Boulay <br />of the DMG reviewed the aerial photographs. Weather conditions were overcast and windy at <br />the time of the flight. The mine site was only partially snow covered. Six photographs were <br />taken during the flyover. <br />Roads <br />Permanent roads appeazed to be cleaz of snow and accessible. With the exception of the office <br />and shop/warehouse there was no activity noted at the time of the flight. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />Site sedimentation ponds 002, 004, 008, and the PECOCO Pond were visible in the photographs. <br />All of these sedimentation ponds were retaining water, but it was not evident in the photographs <br />whether or not any of the sedimentation ponds were dischazging. Ponds 004 and 008 were <br />almost entirely frozen at the surface. Pond 002 and the PECOCO Pond were not frozen over. <br />Pond inlets and embankments appear to be stable and no problems were noted at any of these <br />pond locations. <br />Suooort Facilities <br />The shop and wazehouse azeas were viewed. These locations had been cleazed of snow. From <br />the photos, these facilities and perimeter areas appear to be well maintained and no problems <br />were noted with this aerial inspection. <br />
