The permit area was <br />expanded by five acres in 1999 through an amendment. This is an active pit although there was no equipment on the site <br />at the time of the inspection. Topsoil has been stripped and stockpiles have been placed on the east and west sides of the <br />alive pit. <br />When the permit area was expanded the original permit area boundary markers were pulled, but new corner posts were <br />not installed.
