III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of
observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any
enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence
supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology. This site is permit revoked and is
on a reduced inspection freouency of two inspections per year. Ground
conditions were very dry due to an extended early dry period. The
weather was warm and breezy. The site was traversed on foot.
Signs and Markers
The mine identification sign established by the DMG remains posted on
the fence along the south side of the reclaimed area. It was found in
excellent condition.
Hydrologic Balance
Three ponds remain at this site. Pond K is on the north side of the
disturbance and Pond A is on the east. Pond A is comprised of two
small containments. All ponds were found dry. Debris on the trash
rack at pond K seems to indicate discharge at some point during the
last year. All embankments appeared in good condition, showing no sign
of damage or instability.
1
V Y ~ k ~
1 1. ~~ _ ~• .r K..=7 _y
. ~ ~ _ ~ ,~
J.
...~• n • S ~,'. • ~ ~
.. f ..irzw ~-'~L .; . ~ ~ ... t_ ~ : r' kit
