(3031 4 44 2 15 1 <br />October 21, 1982 <br />Mr. Plike Savage <br />Mined Land Reclamation <br />423 Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Dear Mr. Savage: <br /> <br />i. i; ., 19n2 <br /> <br />The following is Walden Coal Company's response to Carol Russell's <br />inspection report dated October 8, 198`L. <br />Walden Coal Company has taken the following actions to resolve <br />the three concerns Ms. Russell expressed under Section IV, "Problems, <br />Recommendations and Compliance Dates". <br />1. Pumping of water from pond C into Mann Draw has been <br />discontinued. <br />2. Positive drainage is being established in the vicinity <br />of the East Dump in order to ensure that no significant <br />amount of water ponds in that area. <br />3. W 1~en Coal Company is only conducting those opera igns <br />a~' he Northgate Loadout which they understand hav~ been <br />app oved through verbal communication with Mr. Fred Banta. <br />Under Section V, "Status of Problem Resolution", topsoil stock- <br />pile C and the sedimentation pond embankments will be seeded this fall. <br />Vegetative growth along the haul road will be monitored again next <br />season. If it is found, at that time, that permanent vegetative <br />cover is not adequate, the haul road embankments will be reseeded <br />during the fall of 1983. <br />
