III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. This permit is in temporary cessation. The office building at the site is occupied. There is no coal handling activity at this time. There has been some maintenance activity since the last inspection. Hvdroloi?ic Balance There was no discharge from Sedimentation Ponds 1 and 2. There was a small amount of water in both ponds. There were no surface inflows to the ponds. Backfill and Gradin¢ Remaining backfilling and grading requirements are associated with long-term facilities. No reclamation backfilling and grading have been accomplished at the site. Support Facilities The office building and trailer are occupied and are in good repair. Sedimentation ponds and ditches are in good repair. Other structures are in disrepair. Some structures have been vandalized. Temporary repairs have been made. The inlet and dischazge areas of a number of culverts had been cleaned. However, additional maintenance work is required at culvert LFC-2. General Mine Plan Compliance The site is in temporary cessation. No permitted work to covert the site from a coal rail load-out to a coal rail load-in facility had been accomplished. Reve etg ation Remaining revegetation requirements aze associated with future reclamation of long-term facilities. No reclamation revegetation has been accomplished at the site. Air Resource Protection The site is stable with regard to air protection. There is no dust-generating activity at the site. Slides and DamaEe There is an arrested slide, recorded in May 2000, at a cut on the railroad spur. The head escarpment is near the permit boundary.
