The site is currently being mined, with some reclamation work completed. 1. The permit sign is clearly visible, however, some of the boundary markings are obscure. Clear stakes need to be placed along the southeast boundary. Proof of the markings should be sent to DMG within 30 days. 2. The berm separating the pit (lake section) from the Platte River appears stable and adequately revegetated on the river aide; however, the east aide of the berm is concrete set at a 2H:1V angle, which does not conform to the final reclamation elope specified for this Bite. Either a technical revision to allow this elope to remain must be submitted, or further reclamation work must be done. This does not imply that the technical revision would be approved. 3. The topsoil stockpile (reported 70,000 CY) is stockpiled a significant distance from the actively worked pit. It ie also being driven across, and ie being compacted by this action. The operator must prevent further compaction of the topsoil stockpile, and revegetate the stockpile in accordance with Rule 3.1.9(1),(3), and (4). 4. It ie difficult to tell how much of the site ie disturbed at this time. No clear mining plan appears to have been followed in the current south pit mining phase. There are clear signs of grading and revegetation along the strip near the access road; however, 12-16 stockpiles of material seem to be piled at random, with gullys and ditches in between material piles.
