(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_tgas_tnn
INSPECTION DATE: 10/061a5 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: ~_
OBSERVA110NS
This was a normal monitoring inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG. The operator was contacted but
did not accompany the inspector during this inspection. The site is located approximately 13.5 miles west and 2
miles south of Campo, Colorado. The pit is situated along a small rise in an area where the topography begins
to change from typical sandhills rangeland into an area of more severe breaks where deeply dissected
canyons of hard sandstone and basalt are a common features.
There was a mine identification sign present at the entrance to the mine site. Some of the permit boundary
markers are missing but the remaining boundaries can easily be extrapolated from the observed ones. It
clearly appeared that the present disturbance was well within the approved affected area and is fairly small in
size. The pit walls were graded out to 3H:1 V or flatter and vegetation has established naturally quite well as the
pit appears to have had very little use recently. There is a stockpile of oversized material within the permit area.
If the operator were to remove this material or obtain a letter from the landowner requesting that it remain for
his use, the site could be released without additional reclamation activity since the slopes are stable and
vegetated. In addition, there are two sizeable cotton wood trees established in the pit bottom that provide
additional wildlife benefits in an otherwise treeless areo. If the operator wishes to pursue a release of this site,
they should contact the office for further details.
18, E Contact Address
NAME: Bill Wright
OPERATOR: Baca County
STREET: 741 Mnin Street
CITY/STATE/ZIP: CnringfiPlri, CO trln73
cc: r CE
r BL
r FS
r HW
r HMWMD (CH)
r SE
r WOCD (CH)
T OTHER
