n <br />~~ <br />SYNOPSIS OF EVENTS <br /> <br />JUNIPER MOUNTAIN QUARRY, Moffat County, Permit No. M-82-141 <br />OPERATOR: Moffat Limestone Company <br />8/9/82 110(2) Limited Impact Permit No. M-82-141 issued. <br />2/16/90 TR approved to add two new quarry sites 2a and 2b. ~ ~°"'+ ~~ N,~_ <br />11/15/91 Division met briefly with Mr. Charles Butler, Moffat Limestone <br />Company at CMA Mining Summit meeting regarding necessary forms to <br />convert from 110 to 112 permit. The Division sent the necessary <br />application forms to Mr. Butler. <br />1/29/92 In anticipation of receiving conversion application, Division <br />completed a pre-operation inspection with Mr. Darryl Steele. After <br />I left site, I realized I had misinterpreted the property <br />boundaries. Mining had occurred outside the permit boundary. <br />Possible violation was cited for mining outside permit boundary. <br />2/5/92 Division met with Mr. Butler to review his conversion application. <br />Mr. Butler volunteererd that he had mined outside his permit <br />boundary. Ne said he was aware of this in September, 1991, and <br />shut down mining on 12/14/91. He said he thought disturbing under <br />10 acres would be all right even if some of it was outside his <br />permit boundary. Reason to believe letter was sent to Mr. Butler <br />and Mr. Steele. <br />2/13/92 <br />2/19/92 <br />2/24/92 <br />WCY/sj <br />1596E <br />Division received letter from Mr. Butler addressed to Luke <br />Danielson which gave Mr. Butler's account of events at the Juniper <br />Mountain Quarry.
