This will
be accorrrplished byinstalling athick-walled (SDR l 1) 20 inch inside diameter (24 inch outside diameter) HDPE
pipe in the existing diversion ditch and pushing material over the culvert, down the slope, and over the edge of the
existing cut. A thick walled HDPE pipe is being used to assure the integrity of the pipe is maintained while the fill
remains across the diversion ditch. The inlet and outlet of the pipe will be maintained to allow unobstructed flows.
The attached figure depicts the section of the diversion ditch to be crossed.
Relocating the naterial in this fashion will allow it to be accessed and removed by CC&V's mine equipment. It is
currently anticipated that the reject material will have to be rerroved in this manner several times during the 1999
construction season. Therefore, the fill across the designated section of the diversion ditch and the material
extending to the edge of the existing cut will remain in place until soil liner fill processing is curtailed at the end of
the 1999 construction season. At that time, the material pushed down the slope will be contoured, the fill across
the diversion excavated, and the culvert removed. Fertilizer will then be applied and the area seeded with the
approved seed mix.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at 719-689-4041, if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
~cf. ~~-
Scott A.
