• (Page 2) • NINE ID ~ OR PROSPECTING ID f M-81-138 INSPECTION DATE 02/28/95 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS RCO OBSERVATIONS This partial inspection was performed by the Division as part of its monitoring of 110 permits, and because this inspector was at a scheduled inspection of an adjacent permit area. The operator was not contacted prior to this inspection, but the county representative, named on page 1, was present at the time and was helpful in explaining this operation during the inspection. The permit area ie an irregular diamond shape, located on a dryland hillslope. Mining ie proceeding to the south, from the pit floor, which ie 20 to 30 feet below the hilltop. The limit of mining toward the south boundary has nearly been reached, ae Mr Jackson indicated. Slope reduction, to 3:1, has been performed on some of the northern elopes. There were no elopes which appeared unstable. This inspector encourages the operator to continue to perform regular reclamation on those portions of the permit which will not be redisturbed. Processing equipment observed oneite includes a screen and conveyor, which was operating during the inspection. Haul trucks were taking material at the time of the inspection, using a turnaround in the pit. There were a few stockpiles located in the pit. The operation was orderly, and fairly free of weeds and debris. The operator ie reminded that when release from this permit is going to be requested, the approved reclamation plan in the files and Minerals Rule 4.16 should be referred to. There were no problems noted at the time of this inspection. This inspector appreciates the time Mr Jackson spent in indicating the various aspects of this operation and in giving directions to other parts of the county.
