MINE SITE EVALUATION INSPECTION REPORT
Blue Ribbon Mine

PAGE 8
Coal refuse material removal activities at the storage area just west of
the haulroad gate entrance resulted in the deposition of refuse material
against the side of the stockpile and on top of it at its southern end.
No significant mixing of the refuse material and topsoil was evident.
It appeared that the refuse material could be removed successfully if
reasonable care was exercised in doing so. The MLRD was contacted and
informed of the need to remove the material as soon as possible.
Mr. Liddle confirmed the completion of most of the remedial work during
his inspection the week of November 29. He stated that the coal refuse
material had been satisfactorily removed from the topsoil stockpile and
that the stockpile edge was lined with large rocks to prevent additional
disturbances. Ditchlines were established around the stockpile's
western edge and the storaye area to oromote drainage to pond 4. In
addition, all drainage control improvements had been completed except
for a section of ditchline along the portal bench.
