III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below aze comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement acfion. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Hamilton Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the DMG. <br />Aerial photographs were taken on October 13, 2006. Weather conditions were clear and sunny at <br />the time of the flight. Mike Boulay of the DMG reviewed the aerial photographs. <br />Seven photos were taken during the flyover. No problems were noted in any of the aerial <br />photographs. <br />Roads <br />Roads leading to Mining Area No. 1, Mining Area No. 3, and the sedimentation ponds were <br />visible in the photographs. Roads were dry and appeared to be in good condition. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />The ground appeazed dry at the site. The surface of the site is stable with no significant erosion <br />features visible in the photographs. Sedimentation Ponds A and B were viewed. Both ponds <br />were retaining a significant amount of water. The ponds did not appear to be dischazging, Pond <br />embankments aze stable and no problems were noted at any of these sediment pond locations. <br />
