May 11'", 2005
Mr. Eric Reckentine
Lafazge Corporation
10107 Church Ranch Way
Suite 200
Westminster, CO 80021
Deaz Mr. Reckentine,
Habitat Mar~a~rraerr~ InG
Environmental £r Natural Resource Management
Consulting Er Construction Services
Habitat Management, Inc is pleased to provide this estimate of costs for willow plantings along
the Big Thompson River at the St. Louis pit in Loveland, Colorado. The following table indicates
costs of material and labor for willow plantings based on 5, 8, and 10 foot spacing. As I noted in
our meeting this week, is too late in the season, and the site is not appropriate for the survival of
willow stakes. Therefore, our bid assumes that potted willows will be used. If desired, Habitat
Management Inc can recommend a species of willow, or will plant the species indicated by
Lafazge, assuming it is available from one of our suppliers.
Due to the steepness of the bank and the height above the water level that plantings aze desired, it
is strongly recommended that the plantings be watered at least weekly by Lafarge in order to
increase the chances of transplant survival. If watering is not an option, I would recommend only
planting trees neaz the water's edge.
Habitat Management can perform this work on a cost-not to exceed basis if necessary to fit within
your budget. We will need a few weeks notice to order plant material and a deposit may be
required. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~~~~~~ L ~~~~
Lindsey Brandt
Environmental Specialist
14 Inverness Drive East • Suite G-228 • Englewood • CO.80112
303-770-9785 • Ibrandt®habitatmanagementinc.com • ~+nvw.habitatmanagementinccorr~
