III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
~'~ %,
~~ c--~~.~1~
(6 ~yus~..a'°~ ~
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the GEC mine conducted by Jim Stark of CDMG. The
bond for this site has been forfeited and reclamation was completed by DMG. The
weather was warm and sunny and the ground was damp.
Chen's Hill has some gullying on the North side but appears to be well vegetated
and stable.
The access road to the East and West Pit areas was a little rutted but in overall good
condition. The area has received a fair amount of rain over the past week and the
East Pit drainage remained in good shape. The riprap that was placed in the two
gullies below the road and the top of the drainage appears to still be stable and is
continuing to fill in with sediment. Both the East and West Pit areas seemed to be
well vegetated and in good shape. There were cattle grazing the East and West Pit
areas of the GEC Mine at the time of the inspection.
The Orphan Pit, Tipple and Duck Pond areas appeared to be well vegetated and in
good condition. The road to these areas is the Corley Mountain Ranch Road. This
road is well maintained and in good condition.
Overall the site is in good condition.
