CC&V contacted the Division <br />and requested an on site meeting to go over the planned relocation of Highway 67 and the bridge that will <br />be needed to be constructed below the underdrain discharge point as part of the highway relocation. <br />Present during the site inspection were, Phil Barnes, Terry Mandziac and ]im Smith of CC&V. Drove to the <br />underdrain discharge area and the operators representative discussed two possibilities on how they plan to <br />transport the large crane that will be utilized to build the bridge to a location below the toe dam. One of the <br />options discussed was to construct a 40 feet wide road on portions of the toe dam. Since the toe dam was <br />constructed from fill material the Division registered some concerns about the stability and requested the <br />design engineer to provide the appropriate engineering calculation to show that the toe dam will not be <br />compromised by such activity. The operator's representatives agreed to provide the appropriate safety <br />calculations or study that will show that the toe dam will not be compromised by such activities. While at <br />the location inspected the underdrain discharge? Both 24-inch pipes and the four-inch pipe were <br />discharging. No measurements were taken. The operator also plans to extend the discharge pipes below the <br />brogue relocation area until the construction of the bridge is completed. The Division has no objection to <br />the extension of the discharge pipes.
