The inspection was also conducted to evaluate current site conditions and determine if the
existing reclamation financial warranty is adequate to reclaim the site, per the approved reclamation plan.
The north end of the pit has been sloped to a grade of approximately 3:1, covered with topsoil/overburden, and seeded per
the approved reclamation plan. The vegetative cover is becoming established, but primarily near the base of the slope.
A small slump occurred on this north slope, apparently caused by saturation of this slope during spring runoff or heavy
irrigation last year. Mr. Lee indicated that he would lay the slope back a little more, replace the topsoil, and reseed this
slump area. This repair will need to be completed by May 31, 1999, as indicated on page 3 of this report.
Mr. Lee indicated that he intends to complete all remaining reclamation of the pit, duing this field season. The pit floor will
be smoothed out by removing the remaining gravel in the final lift and stockpiling it for use on Mr. Lee's Ranch. The
stockpiled topsoil will be replaced on pit slopes that are reduced to a 3:1 grade, or less.
No noxious weeds were noted.
The reclamation cost estimate was recalculated and the current financial warranty of 52,888.00 was found to be adequate
to perform remaining site reclamation, per the approved reclamation plan.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Brice Lee
OPERATOR Same
STREET 940 Countv Road 119
CITY/STATE/ZIP Hesperus.
