Since there recordr are now <br />available at the Montgomery Wamon otlice, it it no longer necerrary to afro keep them on file with the <br />county. Cnlverir under fhe accew road were checked and <br />found to be clear. <br />Recent activity was obtretved in Pit 1 where the operator has repaired gullies. <br />A gully was observed on a north facing slope in an older reclaimed area, T9N, R7t1W center of the <br />NE 1/4. In places the gully war two feet deep and had a couple of channels. This gully rteeda to be <br />repeIIed before it causes a dis[uptiorr to the poshrrining lurid ure. <br />Repair had been made to gallier in the 720 area narfhwetd of Pond A. I did not check the gallier I had <br />observed leaf martth at the top of Ditch PD I . <br />Bmm~ation <br />Perennial vegetation is ertablirlting at the Pit 1 area, although there it rtiII evidence of the anneal rye <br />cover crop. Species observed included wheat grans, Rnreian w>7d rye, yaaow, flag, penatemon, Pinged <br />sage and big rage. Several patches of thistle were observed that need to be treated thin year. <br />I walked thmugh a 30.23 acre area of reclamation south of Pit 1 that was seeded prior W 1981, some <br />patches were t+a-needed in the faII of 1983 and a 43 acre area that war neededm the fall of 1981. <br />Vegetation it weII established in these enema with wheat greases, Rursiar- wrldrye, green needlegtasr, <br />big sage, fringed sage, cider milkvetch, bhte ~S panstemon, yeaow, mss and rabbitbruah. <br />
