III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during
the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the
facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Ohio Creek Coal Mine #2 for the Fourth quarter, 1999
Hydrologic Balance: The site is well vegetated and very stable. The pond was damp and not
discharging. The pond is vegetated and appears to be very stable.
General Mine Comaliance: Since the mine has be reclaimed, only small rills have formed and those are
very few in number. Cattle have been grazing onsite, however, no ill effects have been observed,
however, the site was grazed to the limit this year and should probably not be grazed for the year 2000.
Reclamation Success: The site appears stable and requires no action as far as reclamation is
concerned. This site was inspected for a reduced frequency evaluation at this time and it will be
recommended that inspections be reduced to two complete inspections per year.
