(OOSI), rec ived your mine inspection report fo Logan Was }
Mine (Permit M-1977-424) on October 2°d. The~mspection was conducted on September 1~, 2004
The report states that a technical revision for stormwater control at the mine is to be prepazed and
submitted to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG} by October 29t°, 2004.
WWL requests a 3 month extension to prepaze this technical revision Due to ongoing reclamation
activities at the mine and other scheduled conflicts, W WL cannot begin preparation of the TR until late
November. As discussed with you previously, WWL intends to install interim slormwater control
structures at the mine site in the coming weeks, before the site is closed for the winter. These structures
include drainage channels and small berms on the mine benches, and tce ditches, water bars, and berms
on mine access roads. These structures will be consistent with planned permanent struchves to be
presented in the TR. WWL is also in the process of repairing (backfilling) the larger erosional
drainages or gullies that developed at the site as a result of heavy precipitation on July 18m, 2004.
Please consider this request and contact me at 242-0170 with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
~~ ~.
Bruce D. smith
Principal Hydrogeologist
AppGcatroas in Earth Sa'ence 743 Horizon Court Suite 330, Grand Junction, CO 81506
Phone: (970) 242x0170 Fax: (970) 242.0270
