III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Arness McGriffin Mine conducted by Tom Gillis of the Colorado <br />Division of Minerals and Geology. <br />The ground was still wet & muddy after weekend rains, preventing vehicular access to the site from the <br />highway turnoff. <br />Roads <br />The site was inaccessible by vehicle due to the muddy road surface. The cable along the road was in <br />place at the time of the inspection. <br />General Mine Plan Compliance <br />No problems were evident at the site, even though at this time of year there is significant increased <br />access through the site by the public for hunting on the DOW property situated above the mine. <br />Revegetation <br />The former portal bench area has fairly good grass cover; the pit highwall is absent of vegetative cover <br />in several places. <br />
