Pa a 2) <br />t.vNE ID a OR rd 2UpE-t~54 INSPECTION DATE: &31108 1•VSPECTOR~S CMR <br />PROSPECTING ID a INITIALS. <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This inspection was conducted in response to a new mine permit application submitted by the Carder Inc. <br />(Applicant). The permit application is to establish a 98-acre sand and gravel sur/ace mine approximately 3 <br />miles northwest of the Town of Manzinola. This pre-operational inspection was conducted pursuant to Section <br />3.2.7 of the Mineral Rules and Regulations. Chris Rowe of the Division of Mining. Reclamation and Safety <br />(Division) carried out the inspection. Mike Ausmus was present from Carder Inc. <br />The mine is accessed from County Road 8. <br />The nine access road is not currently included <br />in the permitted area. The access road is a <br />serni-improved road, approximately 3.000 feet <br />in length to the proposed site, and another <br />5.000 feet long along the entire southern <br />boundary of the permit site. If this road will be <br />substantially upgraded It will need to be <br />included In the permit area. The required <br />notice was posted at the entrance to the <br />access road. <br />The proposed mine site is on located along an <br />old Arkansas River terrace. The proposed <br />site runs east to west along the terrace for <br />5,320 feet. The proposed site is 1,300 feet <br />wide at is widest point (east side). <br />~~r W~ ry <br />J ~ /' <br />The nortt)east corner runs up to a drainage. There is a small <br />reservoir on this drainage, approximately 300 feet east of the <br />permit boundary. There Is a groundwater pit approximately <br />500 feet south of the southeast corner of the site.
