ORIGINAL-POBLIC FILE <br />(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ti+-leal_n44 <br />INSPECTION DATE: Q,LALOd INSPECTOROS INITIALS: ~K- <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Division conducted a pre-operational inspection of the site on 9/6/04. <br />The site is large 112 sand and gravel operation located approximately 6 <br />miles South East of Flacon, Colorado. The operator has applied for an <br />amendment to add two acres to the permit along the eastern boundary of the <br />site, to relocate the access road at the request of E1 Paso County <br />Department of Transportation so as to facilitate improvements to the <br />intersections of Garrett Road and Curtis Road. <br />Present during the inspection was Mr. Vida Solberg, the operator. Amendment <br />application sign though legal size was posted at the access road. The area <br />to be added to the permit was as described in the amendment application. <br />However, there seem to be some confusion about the total acreage permitted. <br />According to the Amendment submitted, the permitted acreage is reported as <br />91.9, change in acreage plus 2 for a total acreage of 93.9.HOwever, <br />according to the conversion application submitted in 1990, the permitted <br />acreage is only 87 acres. Mr. Solberg was notified of the discrepancies and <br />asked to verify the acreage of the permit by surveying the permit area, so <br />the correct acreage will be included in the DMG database.
