Casey, which is subject to a gravel mining permit
approved by the Colorado Mine Land Reclamation Board. The
operation is known as the Dick Casey Concrete Pit. I am writing on
behalf of my client to request your investigation to determine
whether or not the pit is being operated in compliance with the
permit and applicable law. Areas of concern for my client include
the following:
1. Apparent use of one of the water filled pits for disposal
of excess and waste concrete materials.
2. Storage of discarded tires and abandoned vehicles on the
premises.
3. Disposal and burning of what appears to be household
trash and waste on the premises.
4. Mining and reclamation of the property in an orderly
manner, in compliance with the permit.
My client requests your investigation and review of these matters
and, if the operator is not in compliance, my client requests that
steps be taken to enforce the provisions of law and the permit.
Very truly yours,
STUVER GEO E, P.C.
Thomas W.
