III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during <br />the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the coal Ridge Mine conducted by lim <br />f3urne1l of CDMG, on Tuesday, October 4, 2005. The weather was <br />cloudy and cool with periodic drizzle. The permit area was deserted. <br />The permit sign was posted at the entrance road; the information was <br />correct. <br />The permanent road was in excellent condition. <br />Cover over the site was good, with western wheatgrass and mountain brome <br />predominating the vegetation with some basin wild rye, rubber rabbitbrush <br />and sagebrush. <br />There was a small amount of water in both pond cells. The pond <br />embankments were stable. The ditch was dry and clear of debris. <br />The upper slopes were stable, including the reclaimed portal area. There <br />was no sign of erosion. <br />Records were checked in the Garfield County Courthouse. The detail sheet <br />is available with this report. <br />
