The photos indicate
that the portal has been backfilled and graded with waste rock and native soils, to blend
with the native topography. The waste rock stockpile had also been graded to blend with
native topography and provide positive drainage, and mining related debris removed from
site. Remaining reclamation appeared to be limited to minor grading, topsoil replacement
and revegetation. Therefore, DMG has determined that the existing 51,000 financial
warranty is sufficient to ensure reclamation and has withdrawn its previous notice of
increase in financial warranty. Thank you for taking prompt action to initiate reclamation
of affected lands. Please submit copies of the photos, showing completed reclamation,
when avai{able.
A summery of the status of the problems identified in DMG 7/20/99 inspection report and
compliance with the associated corrective actions follows:
PB 1 Problem #1 (PB 1) was issued for absent mine identification sign and affected area
perimeter markers. Operator has indicated that the required sign and markers have
been posted. Therefore, DMG records indicate that the operator has complied with
the corrective actions of PB 1.
PB 2 Problem #2 (PB 2) was issued for insufficient financial warranty. Rather than
increase the amount of financial warranty, the operator has initiated final reclamation
to ensure that the existing amount of financial warranty is adequate to cover
remaining reclamation costs. DMG records indicate that the operator has complied
with the corrective actions of PB 2.
DIVISION OF
MINERALS
GEOLOGY
R E C L A M A T I O N
MINING•SA FETY
PB 3 Problem #3 (PB 3) was issued for failure to submit the Notice of Temporary
Cessation, as required for operations which have been inactive for periods exceeding
