Therefore no <br />assessment is made for this portion. <br />The following is the method used to assess the violations for seriousness <br />and fault: <br />Seriousness - maximum penalty is $1,750 <br />Divided into two components, each with a maximum penalty of $1,750/2 <br />or $875. <br />1. Probability of damage occurence <br />Divided into four categories each of which are assigned a <br />multiple depending on severity of damage <br />a. damage did occur---------------------------multiple of 4 <br />b. damage is likely to occur------------------multiple of 3 <br />c. damage not likely to occur-----------------multiple of 2 <br />d. damage did not occur or is insignificant---multiple of 1 <br />The damage multiple appropriate to each specific <br />event is multiplied by $875/4 or $218.25 to get a total. <br />2. Duration and Extent <br />Divided into two components, each with a maximum penalty of <br />$875/2 or $437.50 <br />a. Duration <br />1. short 45 days--------multiple of 1 <br />2. medium 45-90 days----multiple of 2 <br />3. long~90 days--------multiple of 3 <br />The appropriate multiple is multiplied with <br />$437.50/3 or $145.83 to get a total. <br />b. Extent <br />1. small---------------multiple of 1 <br />2. medium--------------multiple of 2 <br />3. large---------------multiple of 3 <br />Again the appropriate multiple is multiplied with <br />$437.5013 or $145.83 to get a total. <br />
