III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE ~['/ / p~ U~~ <br />~~~ ~13/~9~ ~1~7 aJ ~c~i <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during <br />the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the GEC mine conducted by Jim Stark of CDMG. The <br />bond for this site has been forfeited and reclamation was completed by DMG. The <br />weather was warm and overcast and the ground was dry. <br />The access road to the East and West Pit areas is a little rutted but in overall good <br />condition. The East Pit drainage remains in good shape (although there has not <br />been any real rain or runoff for the past several years). The riprap that was placed in <br />the two gullies below the road and the top of the drainage appears to still be stable <br />and is continuing to fill in with sediment. There was some water in Magpie Creek in <br />the bottom part of the East Pit drainage. Both the East and West Pit areas seemed to <br />be well vegetated and in good condition, The area has been very dry and much of <br />the vegetation appeared to be dormant. These areas have been used for grazing <br />and appear to be in good condition. <br />Chen's Hill has some gullying on the North side but appears to be well vegetated <br />and stable. Due to the dry conditions in the area much of the vegetation appears to <br />be dormant. There are a large number of trees growing on the top of the hill. <br />The Orphan Pit, Tipple and Duck Pond areas appeared to be well vegetated and in <br />good condition. These areas are also very dry and much of the vegetation on these <br />areas also appears to be dormant. The road to these areas is the Corley Mountain <br />Ranch Road. This road is well maintained and in good condition. <br />Overall the site is in good condition. <br />
