(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-2nro-n9a
INSPECTION DATE: ~~ntPmhrr tq~ 7n02 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: GI C
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as a pre operation inspection as part of the Division of Minerals and Geology's (DMG) review
of a permit application for mining decorative landscaping stone. Mr. William Peetz accompanied this inspector on the
inspection.
The site is characterized as short grass prarie with the primary use as rangeland. The site occupies a square mile within a
larger block of land owned by the Operator. The actual mining operation will take place on 160 acres in the south central
portion of section 24. No neighbors live within two miles of the site. The only man made structures within the affected area
are range fences, owned by the Operator.
The site is presently un-developed and is bisected by Red Creek, which is dry most of the year. There is an apparent tamarisk
infestation in the stream bottom that will require the Operator to have a weed control plan in place prior to the start of mining.
The operator plans to remove topsoil and overburden to expose weathered limestone and sandstone which will be mined using
loader and/or excavator to remove the rock. The site appears to be suitable for the proposed mining operation.
The only problem noted is the Tamarisk Infestation. This is cited as a problem on the first and third page of this report, and
must be addressed within the time specified on the third sheet.
I & E Contact Address ^ Mr. Harry Posey
^ CE
NAME: Wi lliam Peetz ^ BL
^ FS
OPERATOR: Ra nch Land LLC ^ Hvy
STREET: 39 25 Hill Circle WMD (CH)
^ SE
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Cn lnradn~nrina5, C(1 Rn9n4 ^ WQCD (CH)
Cc: Ms Angela M.
