III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during <br />the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />Topsoil replacement~depths were measured at 12 inches until clayey spoil was reached, greater than 14 <br />inches, and greater than 14 inches for the three holes. The Division determined that the H-C-03 (20.6 <br />acre) parcel had topsoil replaced as required by the permit. <br />Revegetation: Fish and wildlife: A redtail hawk was noted nesting on a powerpole at the North end of <br />D-pit. Pronghorn antelope were plentiful throughout the mine site. Two Columbian sharptail Grouse <br />were observed strutting on a high point in H-B-98. This is a new location for the Sharptails to be <br />observed and may represent a satellite lek. A herd of approximately 30 elk were encountered on A-B- <br />O1 <br />Reclamation success: Slopes generally are in agreement with approved post-mining contours as shown <br />on Permit Map 12.
