A pre-operation inspection was made of the proposed Lyon King Quarry. Present during the <br />inspection was Mr. Luis Vasquez and Mr. Vic Norris. Mr. Norris is responsible for preparing <br />the permit application. <br />2. The applicant has submitted a Limited Impact 110c application for a sandstone quarry <br />operation. The number of acres to be permitted is 9.98. The majority of disturbance will <br />consist of re-working old historic hand dug quarry areas. These areas are less than a 1/4 <br />acre is size and contain highwalls that are typically less than 15 feet. The total expected <br />disturbance should be no greater than 1 acre at any one time. Processing of quarried <br />sandstone is expected to be offsite. No additional roads or improvements to existing roads <br />are needed as a result of the proposed operation. <br />3. There was evidence of diffuse knapweed present. The subject of weed control for noxious <br />weeds (diffuse knapweed) was discussed with Mr. Vasquez and Mr. Norris. <br />4. Future disturbances will be reclaimed to rangeland. Reclaimed slopes will be graded to <br />conform to the surrounding landscape. Available topsoil and "fines" will be salvaged for <br />reclamation.
