Letter sent from Joe Zalkind to
the operator regarding this, June 1981. Mining plan is being followed except
a small area just north of the entrance is being stripped of topsoil and overburden
preparation for gravel extraction. The overburden from the area number 8 will
then be put over this area and it will be reclaimed to a commerical land use,
reason for this is that abnormally high amount of overburden, approximately 4# feet
was encountered in area number 8 and there is no place to put this overburden at
the present.
Signs E Markers
Mine identification signs
Perimeter signs
Buffer zone signs
Blasting Signs
Topsoil Markers
Comments: Entrance road is marked.
Premining - Postmining Land Use
Comments: No problems
Backfilling and Grading - Rule 6.1
Addits and shafts
Final graded slopes-highwall elimination terraces
Overburden thickness
Spoil handling procedures
Erosion-rills or gullies/erosion .control
Toxic, acid forming or combustile material handling procdures
Grading along contour
Slope
Stability
Affect on lands outside permit area
Handling of drill or auger holes
Comments: Are backfilling and widening dike along extraction area number 7
pond, will fill it approximately 30 feet towards the west.
