III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during

This was a partial inspection of the Coal Gulch Mine conducted by Tom Gillis ofthe Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology. Skies were cloudy and ground conditions were wet as a result ofmoderate rainfall
the previous evening.
The cable across the entrance to the access road was in place at the time of the inspection.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE:
The water level in the sediment pond appeazed to be about the same as observed during the April
inspection. No new erosional features were observed, and ditches were in the same general condition as
observed in April.
REVEGETATION:
Perennial grasses still predominate vegetative cover on the reclaimed spoil pile. Some weedy species were
observed in several azeas, but not in significant concentrations.
