Mayday Mine, Permit No. M-81-185
Dear Mr. Ferguson:
pF' CF>~
N,~e; ~
~ ~~
"~.
~ ~e T6 ~
Roy Romer
Governor
Michael B. Long
Division Director
The Division of Minerals and Geology has completed a recalculation
of the financial warranty amount for the above referenced mining
operation. This recalculation is part of a general statewide
effort directed at all 110(2) type mining operations under a
directive from the Mined Land Reclamation Board. This directive
was brought about by a rule change that removed the $5,000.00 cap
on 110(2) type operations. The Division's cost estimate for
performing all reclamation work required in the approved permit
application for the Mayday Mine worked out to $5,008.00, which is
essentially equal to the amount of bond currently in place
($5,000.00). Therefore, the current amount of financial warranty
being held for the Mayday Mine is adequate at the present time.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at the
Durango Field Office, 1474 Main Ave., Room 223, Durango, Colorado
81301, phone no. 247-5062.
Sincerely,
~ 'r~
Tom Gillis
Environmental Protection Specialist
/tdg
cc: Jim Stevens, DMG
R.A.
