III. COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the (acts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology. This former underground mine is reclaimed. Remaining buildings and <br />structures are approved to remain as permanent structures. The weather was clear and <br />cool and ground conditions were dry. <br />Hvdrologic Balance <br />The sediment pond held water about one foot below the top of the discharge riser. The pond <br />was not discharging. The pond embankment and the emergency spillway appeared normal <br />and in good condition. <br />Processing Waste <br />The refuse pile highwall slope appeared stable with no sign of slumping, damage, or <br />excessive erosion.
