(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1991-009
INSPECTION DATE 6/30/04
INSPECTORS INITIALS ESC
This was an inspection of the White River Aggregates Pit conducted by Erica Crosby and
Carl Mount of the Division of Minerals and Geology. Jack Paulson of White River
Aggregates, Inc. was present during the inspection.
The Bite is located 1 mile east of Meeker in Rio Blanco County, Colorado. Amine
identification sign was posted at the entrance to the site, and permit boundary markers
were identified. The site is active, but the operator is only crushing and screening
material hauled into the site.
The Division increased the bond as a result of a previous inspection from $5,000.00 to
$30,222.00. On December 30, 2002, the Division notified White River Aggregates of the
increase in bond liability. The Division has not received the increase to date
($25,222.00). The operator verbally agreed to do some reclamation in order to reduce the
amount of financial warranty. The purpose of the inspection was to verify that
reclamation has been conducted on the site in order to reduce the amount of financial
warranty.
The highwall on the south side of the pit has been backfilled and graded. Slopes appear
to be 3h:ly, and topsoil has been replaced. The operator has yet to revegetate the slope,
and it will need to be completed this fall. The east highwall has yet to be reclaimed.
The operator stated that material from the wash ponds and from off-site would be used to
backfill the highwall. The lower potion of the site contains the crushing and screening
facility, wash ponds, material stockpiles and remaining gravel reserves. None of these
areas have been reclaimed to date.
Based on the reclamation noted above, the Division will readjust the reclamation cost
estimate. Notice of the change will be sent under separate cover.
I & E Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Jack Paulson ^ BL
OPERATOR White River Aggregates, Inc. n FS
STREET 2107 E.
