Activities to abate this violation
were performed on 4/10/89, 4/25/89, 5/9/89 and 5/18/89 and the violation
was terminated 5/19/89. A civil penalty of E650 was proposed: it was
reduced to E500 following the assessment conference, and it was received
by the office on 6/20/89.
Problems - Current and/or Potential:
I have been pushing W.C.C. to submit calculations on the ditches and rock
check dams left on the property with little success. They have lost the
field data collected last summer and so I am pushing to get a written
commitment on a submittal schedule.
Records are usually only nominally intact early in the year I told Ms.
James that I would take copies of her submittals with me during
inspections if she prepared extra copies. That has not worked great, as
she doesn't make extra copies.
Erosion is the major issue at the site since they have replaced the
sediment ponds with a sediment terrace "treatment facility". The
terraces were not installed on the contour, so it is valuable to examine
the knickpoints on the certification and check those areas following
substantial runoff. The ditch along the access road was a major sully
last year, so they converted it to a ditch. It should also be watched.
Map the low wall settlement cracks on an annual basis.
Check the shop oil sump's discharge pipe for leakage in the spring.
/1 ac
2414E
