III. COMMENTS COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments Include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also descnbe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the New Horizon Mine for the month of August, 2001. The purpose of <br />This inspection is to conduct normal operat{ons and environmental compliance. <br />ROADS: A11 roads appear to be in excellent condition. The detour is functioning as designed. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: Mine 1' Ponds 1 and 6 had water in them but only 1 appeared to be <br />--- - - - - <br />discharging as normal, all other ponds were dry. All ditches and culverts seem to be functioning as <br />designed. Mine 2' Ponds 7 & 8 have water in them and 7 was discharging. <br />BACKFILL R GRADING: 6 & G was in progress as is normal.
