COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection The comments include discussion of observations made <br />dunng the inspection Comments also descnbe any enforcement actions taken dunng the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation. Mining, and Safety (Division). This former mountaintop removal operation is <br />now reclaimed and has achieved a Phase I bond release for most areas. Ground conditions <br />on this day were dry but evidence of rain within the last week was noted Ron Thompson of <br />Peak Project Management accompanied me on the inspection. <br />Availability of Records <br />The public copy of the mine records is kept at the office of Peak Project Management (PPMI. <br />The contact, address, and phone number for PPM is Ron Thompson, Peak Pro)ect <br />Management, 34115 County Road 20.8. Trinidad. CO 81082. 719-846-4975. The mine <br />permit will expire in July 2007 Blasting records are no longer required to be kept on file as it <br />has been more than three years since any blasting occurred at this site Records were found <br />in compliance as detailed on page 2a of this report. <br />H drologic Balance <br />All ponds were holding reasonable amounts of water but none were observed discharging. <br />Embankments and spillway appeared in good condition. The operator should check the <br />sediment marker in pond 7a to ensure that markings are still legible on the staff gauge. <br />Pond 7a is shown at left and pond 9a at right.
