III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
treat any infestations on their property.
The inspection continued at pond A and B. Both were dry and the
operator is preparing to install the catwalk to the primary
discharge control on pond B. This pond is also scheduled to have
excess sediment cleaned out in the near future.
Both Bear Canyon and Hubbard Creek sites were inspected and no
problems were noted. The vegetation at the lower portal at Hubbard
Creek is not establishing very well, however, this area is slated
to be reseeded with the permanent mix this year. The operator is
planning to conduct some soil sampling to insure proper chemical,
physical and fertility levels.
Roads on the site were in good condition, however, the intersection
of highway 133 and the mine entrance should be cleaned up as excess
coal fines and general road grime have built up in this area.
The mine site is generally in good working order with non-coal
waste properly contained in the non-coal waste area and mining
supplies neatly stored.
The records were checked and found to be in compliance with
Division requirements.
