i;-.
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
ANNUAL BOND COMPLIANCE TRACKING
Mine: Eckman Park Mine Permit No.: C-81-071
Date: 7/28/92 Inspectors: Mathews/Waldron
Bond Inspection Topic: Revegetation Rule: 4.15
* Inspected Area
Legal Description (Accurate to 1/4 1/4
Section):
Acreage:
Narrative Location Description: Mountain Shrub Reference Area
** Date Final Grading Completed:
** Date Topsoiling Completed:
*` Date Initial Seeding Completed:
** Date Final Seeding Completed:
Map
Reference:
Inspection Procedure
Two, 200 meter transects were run from east to west through the central portion
of the reference area. The transects were spaced approximately 40 meters
apart. Cover estimates were obtained using a tripod-mounted ocular point bar,
with two readings taken at 5 meter intervals along the transect. Woody plant
density was estimated by counting woody plants within a 2m x 20m belt along each
transect.
Data Summary
(Reference any tables, diagrams or maps attached)
See Attachment 1, Cover and Attachment 2, Woody Plant Density.
Narrative Evaluation of Compliance
For a reference area, compliance evaluation is not applicable. The reference
area is in a typically dense woody community dominated by gambel oak ( uecus
gambelii), chokecherry (Prunus virginiana), and service berry (Amelanchier
alnifolia) with small openings in the canopy dominated by big sagebrush
(Artemisia tridentata), snowberry (SYmphoricarpos oreophilus), and Kentucky
bluegrass (Poa pratensis), among with other grasses and fortis. A sedge species
(Carex sp.) occurs frequently in the tall shrub understory, along with snowberry.
Ground cover of living vegetation was estimated to be 62~. No attempt was made
to estimate tall shrub or tree canopy cover. The sample mean for woody plant
density was 32,984 stems per acre. Sample adequacy was not met for either
parameter.
* A separate tracking sheet should be filled out for each area and compliance
topic evaluated.
** If applicable
DTM/ern
4538E
